Syndicate
Read the article, not the teaser
Syndicate is an RSS reader for iPhone and iPad with a watch app that is a full reader in its own right. It pulls the article text out of any page and sets it for the screen you’re holding — from a 13-inch iPad down to a 40 mm watch, in native Swift with no web view.
Public Beta Open to everyone on TestFlight — the latest build, before it reaches the App Store.
- The gist before you tap. An on-device summary under every headline, written on iPhone and handed to the watch.
- Setup is one file. Open an OPML export and you’re done — no account needed. Or sign in to any Google Reader API service and your read state follows you.
- Unread only, on the wrist. Hide the feeds with nothing new so the list is the three that matter, not all forty-nine.
Use it when… you’re in the queue with just your watch and ten minutes to actually read something.

Features
The Gist Before You Tap
An on-device AI summary sits under each headline on iPhone and iPad, and is handed on to your watch. Nothing leaves the device.
Whole Articles, Extracted
A native reader view pulls the article out of the page. Two engines to choose from — Readability-style and Postlight-style with per-site rules — both written in Swift, because watchOS has no web view and no JavaScript.
Search Everything
Folders, feeds, headlines and the text of articles you have already opened.
Widget & Shortcuts
An unread-count widget, background refresh, and Shortcuts actions to refresh and mark articles read.
A Reader on Your Wrist, Too
The Apple Watch app fetches, stores and lays out every feed by itself. Go for a walk with the phone on the kitchen table and keep reading.
No Account Needed
Open an OPML file from any reader on your iPhone and your feeds reach the watch too. No Syndicate account, no Syndicate server.
Or Sync What You Use
FreshRSS, Miniflux, Inoreader, BazQux, The Old Reader and Tiny Tiny RSS — anything that speaks the Google Reader API. Or keep a library in step with iCloud.
Bold Starts
An optional reading aid that draws the first letters of each word heavier. One switch in Settings.
Built for Real Feed Lists
Feeds that moved are followed to their new address; broken markup is repaired rather than rejected. Dynamic Type throughout.
Private by Design
Feeds come straight from the publishers you follow. No server of ours, no analytics, no crash reporter, no third-party SDK.
About
Syndicate is part of the Rumskrot toolbelt of native, privacy-first Swift apps. On iPhone and iPad it is a full reader, and the Apple Watch app shares the same library and the same reader, built to work on a 40mm screen with no phone nearby.
Join the beta
Want a say in where Syndicate goes next? Join the public beta on TestFlight and try new builds before they reach the App Store.
The beta runs in Apple’s TestFlight app. Install TestFlight, then tap Join — TestFlight installs the beta build of Syndicate and offers each new build as it’s ready.
Purchases in TestFlight builds are test purchases: you’re never charged, and they don’t carry over to your account or to the App Store version. Purchases in the App Store version are real — please make sure which version you’re using; we can’t take responsibility for purchases made by mistake.
Spot a bug, a rough edge or a missing feature? Take a screenshot in the beta build and TestFlight offers to send it as feedback, or use Send Beta Feedback in the TestFlight app. Every report is read and helps decide what gets built and fixed next — there’s no support desk behind it, so reports aren’t answered one by one.
To leave the beta, open Syndicate in the TestFlight app and tap Stop Testing.
